It’s Friday!! Hooray!!! Not only has the weekend begun, but it is now time for a new installment of Roque’s Friday Films! I took a break last week because of the incredibly stressful presidential election going on here in the US, but today, I present to you a film called “Autumnal”.
Living in the hills and woods of middle Tennessee has given me the chance to enjoy all of the fall colors that are unravelling right now. I literally cannot get enough of how strikingly beautiful all of it is—so much so, that I made a film to showcase the colors and foliage that exist right outside my door.
“Autumnal” is a contemplative film that highlights the vivid changes occurring in nature during a fall season. It features original music by my frequent collaborator and talented musician Andrew Weitze.

Thank you all so much for watching. Tune in next week when I feature another brand new film!
Due to the stress of the ongoing US presidential election, I have decided not to release a new film this week. My anxiety over this contentious election and the soaring rates of Covid-19 have made it hard for me to focus on my film work.
This week, I wanted to give you all a comedic mental break from all of the stressful madness that is ongoing in the world right now. This post features a few of my comedic films. Above, you can watch the official music video for the song I released last summer called “Cat Daddy”.
And here is the companion lyric video for the song:
If you are up for something truly unusual and kooky, here is my short film YUP that is intended to make you chuckle and wonder what the heck did you just watch:
Lastly, I wanted to share the first installment of my fake comedy show “The Other Foot”. It’s about feet, sort of.
With so much change and upheaval happening in the world right now, it is important to take care of oneself and have a good laugh whenever possible.
I will be back next week Friday with a new film for all to see.
Thank you for watching.
It’s here! This week’s new film is designed to be experimental and evocative. Filmed during a recent trip to the Stone Door trail at South Cumberland State Park in Tennessee, I was able to capture lush forest imagery and panoramic vistas overlooking the gorgeous Savage Gulf area.
I have always wanted to play around with color in my films and the backdrop of fall foliage colors seemed to be a wonderful opportunity to try it out. I also recorded a chant that I wrote. I sang it in three part harmonies, and the result is a plaintive and haunting piece of music.
I hope you enjoy this week’s offering! If you are a Youtube enthusiast, please feel free to subscribe to my channel right here:
